"🧵Meir Ben-Shitrit was, according to Israeli media, the main suspect in the ongoing Sde Teiman sodomy rape case. In spite of that, he was the first soldier to be released, after just two days of detainment. Here's a video of him from June 2023, while in reserve duty in the West Bank: "Why can't we go in with Negev machine guns? Why can't we go in with Mag machine guns? And why can't we go in with the holding force of a grenade launcher, to such a place full of terrorists? Two days ago, all these terrorists were standing there, 150-200 armed terrorists. Why don't we get 3-4 attack helicopters up in the sky and spray everyone?" The video was posted on the Telegram channel of racist thug and right wing influencer Yoav Eliassi (HaTzel, "The Shadow") and went viral. After the video was circulated widely, Ben Shitrit claimed that the army is threatening to remove him from service, yet the army assured the press that Ben Shitrit will not be dismissed."
