"1/2 משטר האפרטהייד ממשיך בהשמדה השיטתית של חיי הפלסטינים: הבוקר פלשו הכוחות לכפר זווידין, שם השמידו שני בורות מים, שני בתי מגורים גדולים, מבנה ששימש כמטבח, שני דירי צאן וגדרות. אין כמו השמדת מקורות מים לקראת הקיץ! הרי בכך הצבא הישראלי מתמחה: הרעבה והצמאת בני אדם קרדיט@basel_adra" - Source

Archivist Notes On This Video

"The apartheid regime continues its systematic destruction of Palestinian life: This morning, forces raided the village of Zweidin, where they demolished two water cisterns, two large residential homes, a structure used as a kitchen, two sheep pens, and fencing. Nothing says "summer is coming" like destroying water sources! After all, this is what the Israeli army specializes in: starving and dehydrating human beings. Credit: @basel_adra"

Archivist Notes: Massive demolition in the village of Zweidin

On April 30, Israeli forces demolished two houses, five barracks, a livestock pen, and a water well in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. The army, accompanied by bulldozers and HYUNDAI excavators, demolished

  • a two-storey home belonging to the citizen, Hashem Ibrahim Al-Atmin in the village of Al-Zweidin in Masafer Yatta; the home was inhabited by 13 citizens.

  • a house belonging to the citizen, Khalil Ramadan Al-Atmin, which was shelter for 14 citizens, in addition to demolishing five barracks, a sheep pen, and a water well, all of which belonged to the Al-Atmin family.

The context:

The village mentioned is Zweidin, known in Arabic as الزويدين (al-Zweidin). It is a Palestinian village located in the South Hebron Hills, within the Masafer Yatta region of the southern West Bank.

Zweidin has been the site of recent tensions and incidents involving Israeli settlers and military forces. Reports indicate that settlers, with military support, have entered the village, leading to confrontations with residents and international activists. These events have included arrests and restrictions on residents' access to their land.

On April 11, 2025, Israeli soldiers (Magav Border Police) raided the village at the order of the violent settler Shimon Attia, who lead the outpost “Havat Shorashim.” They tried to expell the residents.
