The Israeli occupation forces arrested, at 5 a.m. on Monday March 3, the Palestinian journalist Walid Zayed (28 years old) after storming his home in the Masayef neighborhood of the city of Ramallah in the central West Bank.

According to Khaled Rabah, his father, they surrounded the house and then about 30 Israeli soldiers stormed it searching for Walid who was asleep at the time.His mother confirmed that the soldiers arrested Walid from his bedroom, and asked him some questions about the nature and place of his work, then asked for his personal ID, and then took him to an unknown location.

Walid,the only son of the family, was preparing for his wedding after Ramadan.

A joint statement issued by the Commission of Prisoners' Affairs (governmental) and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club (civil society) said that the occupation forces arrested at least 25 citizens from the West Bank from Sunday evening until Monday morning, bringing the total number of arrests after October 7 to more than 7,655.

On December 11, 2024, an Israeli occupation court issues a 10-month prison sentence and a fine of 2,000 shekels against the journalist prisoner Walid Zayed from the city of Al-Bireh in occupied West Bank.
