"A short while ago, we were documenting injuries that were brought to the hospital's reception, who were mostly children. Just moments later, the Israeli occupaiton army perpetrated a massacre against the Jouda family in Jabalia al-Balad. These are the bodies that were retrieved by rescue crews and civilians so far. There are talks of more than 10 martyrs and there are still some missing under the rubble.

This is a bloody night in Gaza... Next to the Jouda family's remains is a member of the Civil Defense whow as martyred."

Civil Defense spokesperon Mahmoud Basal speaks of the martyred first responder: "This is Ali Omar. Perhaps the member of our crew who rescued the most children. He used to always search for children and go to their rescue while crying for them. And now the Israeli occupation forces killed him like this. What was Ali's crime and that of 87 members of the Civil Defense for them to be killed like this? They are supposed to enjoy immunity and protection. He rescued 5 children before his martyrdom."

His colleague Nooh Al-Shaghnobi tells Ali's mother Ali was working on rescuing a mother stuck under the rubble.

Around 12:30 am, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Jouda family house on the Old Gaza Street in Jabalia al-Balad.

Rescue crews pulled out the bodies of 6 dead and 4 injured.
