On April 12, 2025, Saturday evening, Israeli soldiers arrested the staff of Palestinian Television in Jenin.
A video shows Israeli soldiers assaulting journalists Amna Bilalo and photojournalist Tariq Abu Zeid as they were reporting live from the perimeter of Jenin camp, which has been under assault for 82 consecutive days (Operation Iron Wall).

The Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate strongly condemned the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian TV crew, denouncing the arrest and hours-long detention of Balalo and Abu Zeid, as well as the confiscation of their professional and personal belongings. Condemned the attack as part of systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists. Emphasized that Israel aims to silence coverage of its crimes. Reiterated its intention to continue legal proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC).Committed to working with international bodies to ensure journalist protection and accountability for the crimes.
Official media condemnation:
Condemned the assault and held Israel fully responsible for the safety of its crews. Pledged to pursue the case in international forums. And asserted that such actions aim to obscure the truth and terrorize journalists.
The occupation continues to prevent journalists from entering the camp to cover the ongoing assaults and demolitions.
On February 23, in the afternoon, the Israeli army tanks invaded Jenin, in order to operating inside the Jenin camp، northern West Bank, for the first time since Operation Defensive Shield and the Second Intifada in 2000.
This is the clear sign that the Israeli offensive force will increase in the West Bank.
The force that will enter the camp consists of one tank company from the 188th Armored Brigade.
The army is preparing to remain for a long period inside the Jenin camp with the deployment of a permanent battalion that will continue to operate in Jenin without specifying a time period.

On February 13, The Israeli press reported that the IDF Central Command was considering establishing permanent outposts in the Jenin refugee camp, where a newly formed "Jenin Battalion" would be stationed for rapid deployment. If approved, the outposts would be placed within or near the camp, with an initial phase lasting several months to assess effectiveness. The IDF was also exploring expanding this strategy to other camps in northern "Samaria" (nother Governorate of West Bank). As Operation Wall of Iron nears completion, commanders see these outposts as "a long-term security solution".

"Fourty thousand #Palestinians evicted, so far, the Jenin, Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, now unpopulated. @UNRWA activities in the camps was ceased. I ordered the Israel Defense Forces to remain in the cleansed camps for the next year, and prevent inhabitants from returning (...)."
On February 21, the Prime Minister has ordered the IDF to carry out an intensive operation in West Bank
"Following the attempt to perpetrate a chain of mass bus bombings, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has just completed a security assessment with the Defense Minister, the IDF Chief-of-Staff, the ISA Director and the Israel Police Inspector General The Prime Minister has ordered the IDF to carry out an intensive operation against centers of terrorism in Judea and Samaria. The same day, visiting Tulkarem R.C., Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed, : "We are entering the strongholds of terrorism, leveling entire streets and eliminating terrorists. I have instructed to augment the forces in Judea and Samaria and to launch additional operations".

Eitan APCs were documented moving through the streets of Jenin. Deployed to the West Bank since early February. These vehicles are equipped with the Edge RCWS system, which incorporates AI capabilities and automatic target recognition for their machine gun.
IDF Ground Forces and MAGAV Border Guard units are seen operating in Jenin, Qabatiya and Nablus.
Consequences of Iron Wall
Since the Iron Wall operation began, over 210 Palestinians have been arrested, more than 60 Palestinians killed, more than 30 infrastructures destroyed, only 85 weapons seized, and more than 14 aerial strikes conducted.
