Archivist Notes: Demolition of a farm and homes in Issawiya

On March 3, 2025, the Israeli bulldozers demolished the farm of Ziad Mustafa in the village of Issawiya in the city of Jerusalem, which had been in existence for 27 years on the family’s land.

The farm is owned by the Mustafa family, as the family was notified on Sunday evening of the need to evacuate the entire farm (with an area of 12 dunoms) after the final demolition decision, and the family was forced to evacuate the livestock from it.

Israeli forces accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the farm in the morning hours, prevented them from being in it, and forced them to be several meters away from it. They carried out a large-scale demolition and bulldozing operation that affected everything on the farm : the apartment in which he lives, another apartment used by workers, in addition to barns, pens, stables, doors and fences. Trees and soil were also uprooted, and the forces deliberately destroyed various equipment used for agriculture.

The Mustafa family farm supports 6 families, while the initial losses of the family were estimated at more than 2 million dollars.

The Jerusalemite activist and member of the follow-up committee, Mohammad Abu Al-Hummus, said that the area where the demolition was carried out today is targeted for the implementation of settlement projects, specifically the "E1" project, the Greater Jerusalem project. "The Mustafa family farm is considered the reservoir for the people of the village of Issawiya after its lands were confiscated for various projects, and today they are pursuing the people for what remains of their lands."
