Archivist Notes: Assault of the Martyr Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital in Jenin

On March 8, 2025, the Israeli soldiers stormed the Martyr Khalil Suleiman Governmental Hospital in Jenin in the West Bank, threwing a gas bomb inside it, in addition to closing the eastern entrance to the besieged camp.

Israeli forces detained a number of journalists inside the hospital and prevented patients, while photos documented the deployment of occupation forces in front of the hospital gates.

The Israeli army closed the eastern entrance to Jenin camp, while the occupation forces sent new military reinforcements, including armored vehicles.

Note : The Jenin Governmental Hospital is now also known as the Martyr Doctor Khalil Suleiman Hospital. Khalil Suleiman (Arabic: خليل سليمان) (1943/1944 – 4 March 2002) was a Palestinian doctor and the head of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Emergency Medical Service in Jenin, Palestine. He was killed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in 2002 while traveling in an ambulance to rescue a wounded girl during the Second Intifada
