In the first moments of the massacre, **3 people were confirmed killed and more than 50 injured** were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Tal al-Zaatar. ### Night massacre Some time after 10 pm, Israel bombed a residential block at Nassar intersection in Tal al-Zaatar, destroying the houses of three families: Al-Hawajiri, Nassar, and Abu al-Aysh. She specialized in drawing colorful joyful portraits of people. Since the war started she shifted focused to depict the reality of the Palestinian struggle, suffering and hopes. On October 17, Ayham and Yousef, two young boys from Al-Aroub refugee camp near Hebron,south of the West Bank, stepped out to play football and met Israli infantery unit. **On october 17**, at lunch time, Israel struck the UNRWA-run Abu Hussein Boys' Primary School. Like all schools in the Gaza Strip, this school was turned into a shelter for displaced Palestinians. According to [Anas al-Sharif](https://x.com/AnasAlSharif0/status/1846889080866722204), most of the martyrs and wounded transferred to Al-Awda and Kamal Adwan hospitals were women and children. Fires are still burning in the Abu Hussein School accommodation center, in the middle of Jabalia camp, due to the inability of the civil defense to access it due to repeated Israeli artillery bombardments on the school.
