"🇺🇳DEVELOPING STORY: UN staff have decided to stay in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza—despite new Israeli displacement orders and attacks. The spokesman said: “That’s our humanitarian hub. Staff is dispatched from there to different parts of Gaza. That’s where our equipment is. That’s where our headquarters are.” UN staff are currently spread across a dozen premises in the area, and their coordinates have been shared with the Israeli military. The UN saluted the courage of its teams—especially Palestinian staff—risking their lives while starving, staying “in safe houses that are being attacked,” and waiting up to 18 hours in vehicles to deliver aid.
