"I am now in Ibn al-Haytham school which turned from a shelter to a massacre scene. Israeli aricraft bombed, and not for the first time, killing 8 including 5 children and 2 women. The scene here indicates that a high number of martyrs were killed. Indeed, many Palestinians were killed, aside from the sense of terror inflicted on them. Madam In'aam is a teacher in this school.

Madam In'aam, thank God you're safe. Tell me what happened?

*-Usually I come here every day to teach the students. But today specifically I came to bring olive oil and thyme to the displaced families and the children of martyrs. They were really happy. About 2 minutes after I left, a bomb fell, I had no idea it struck the school until my relatives and neighbors started asking about me and if I was safe.

- I came to ask about them and saw some of them, but I don't know about the others.

These scenes are recurrent as the IOF is makign legitimate the targeting of shelters. As the lady told us, this room was a place of learning and she has to be assured of the safety of her students."

The facts :

• An Israeli aristrike in the afternoon targeted the Ibn al-Haytham school in Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

• The school, like all others, housed displaced people and a teacher by the name of In'aam, was still offering courses to her students there.

• Journalists were told by the Civil Defense crews that the school was struck without warning with two bombs which penetrated all the way to the ground floor to the teacher's classroom, where displaced people were staying.

• The intensity of the bombing caused victims to be flung out of the classroom and body parts were seen strewn about the scene.

• Rescue crews, along with civilians, were working to recover bodies and assist the injured and to retrieve those still trapped beneath the rubble.

• This school has been targeted multiple times before, including during ground incursions.

Casualties:

• 8 people killed, including 5 children and 2 women. Some victims were torn to shreds. One child's skull was cleaved.

• Victims were taken to al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital.
