"World Central Kitchen employees' families search for their loved ones among the dead after an Israeli airstrike this morning targeted a WCK-marked vehicle, killing five people. Among the martyrs is Azem Abu Daqqa, a supervisor of the community kitchens in East Khan Yunis. amr.tabash (IG)" - Source
On November 30, Around 8 am, Israeli drones targeted a car belonging to World Central Kitchen (WCK) employee, was targeted by an Israeli drone on the Salah al-Din Street in the eastern side of southern Gaza’s Khan Younis city, killing at least five people, including three local Palestinian employees of the WCK.
Journalists reported that the car was targeted more than once: first by a drone strike without any prior warning, then a second time when civilians were trying to help the victims, causing the death of two civlians and several other injuries.
The IDF boasted of the massacre and explicitly indicated its deliberate nature, labeling, as usual, one of the WCK workers, as a terrorist.
This attack is part of the Israeli strategy of deliberate starvation to increase pressure on the population in Gaza. In addition to controlling the flow of aid, Israel has been revealed recently to collude with gangs in Gaza and allowing them to loot aid, and in turn inflate prices.
On April 1, 2024, seven WCK employees were murdered in repeated drone strikes on their convoy while they were travelling along a route coordinated with the IDF in three vehicles belonging to the organisation, with clear WCK signage attached to the cars. The attack sparked global outrage, and prompted the WCK to temporarily suspend its work in Gaza due to Israel's violation of safety assurances.
"Earlier today, the IDF struck a vehicle with a terrorist, Hazmi Kadih, who took part in invading Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 massacre. Kadih was monitored by IDF intelligence for a while and was struck following credible information regarding his real-time location. Kadih also worked for the @WCKitchen organization, and following the incident, @cogatonline representatives demanded senior officials from the international community and the WCK administration to clarify the issue and order an urgent examination regarding the hiring of workers who took part in the October 7 massacre and terrorist attacks against the State of Israel. We emphasize t hat according to current information, it is not possible to link the terrorist to a specific abduction attempt. The IDF requests to follow the announcements of official sources only and to avoid the spreading of rumors that hurt the families and the public."
