"I am now in Ibn al-Haytham school in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City, which was bombed suddenly causing a number of martyrs and injuries among the displaced who were sheltering here in the classroms her eat grounf floor level. More than one bomb penetrated all the floorsreached the ground floor, where the displaced people were. The explosion was so intense that bodies were flung outside these classrooms. The search and rescue oeprations are ongoing in this school that was targeted more than once before during this Israeli war."

The facts :

• An Israeli aristrike in the afternoon targeted the Ibn al-Haytham school in Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

• The school, like all others, housed displaced people and a teacher by the name of In'aam, was still offering courses to her students there.

• Journalists were told by the Civil Defense crews that the school was struck without warning with two bombs which penetrated all the way to the ground floor to the teacher's classroom, where displaced people were staying.

• The intensity of the bombing caused victims to be flung out of the classroom and body parts were seen strewn about the scene.

• Rescue crews, along with civilians, were working to recover bodies and assist the injured and to retrieve those still trapped beneath the rubble.

• This school has been targeted multiple times before, including during ground incursions.

Casualties:

• 8 people killed, including 5 children and 2 women. Some victims were torn to shreds. One child's skull was cleaved.

• Victims were taken to al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital.
