Archivist Notes On This Video

Displacement upon the displacement of our lives, we spend it between the terror of survival and the loneliness of departure, and we say: When will we return, I wonder, if it is written in our destinies!

Archivist Notes: Day 403: North Gaza Invasion

Day 39 of Israel's third ground invasion of the North Gaza governorate.

Less than 24 hours after allowing no more than 3 aid trucks of flour and water to enter the city, the IDF besieged Beit Hanoun and the shelters therein early morning and ordered people to leave on foot southwards. (sources: 1). The siege was preceded by massacres of two families, including that of journalist Hossam Shabat.

Hossam, a native of Beit Hanoun stated that Beit Hanoun "was the first city targeted by Israeli occupation forces to be wiped out. It had a population of 70,000; now only 3,000 are left. Israeli forces have been trying to ethnically cleanse it for over a year now. They just invaded it again, surrounded the remaining schools, and are forcing the residents to leave under the threat of snipers and bombs."
