"بينما نام أطفال العالم يحتضنون هدايا العام الجديد بطمأنينة، كانت غزة في أولى ساعات العام الجديد على موعد مع مجزرة جديدة. لم يكفِ الاحتلال الإسرائيلي أن يترك أطفال غزة ينامون وهم يموتون متجمّدين من البرد في خيام النازحين، بل واصل حرب الإبادة الجماعية، مستهدفًا منازل عوائل طروش وبدرة وأبو وردة في شارع غزة القديم، مخلفًا خمسة عشر شهيدًا. هكذا تبدأ غزة عامها، وسط ألم وحسرة وصمت العالم المحتفل. While children around the world slept peacefully, holding their New Year’s gifts with joy, Gaza, in the first hours of the new year, faced another massacre. The Israeli occupation did not stop at letting Gaza’s children sleep while freezing to death in refugee tents but continued its genocide, targeting the homes of the Taroush, Badra, and Abu Warda families on Old Gaza Street, leaving fifteen martyrs.
