Archivist Notes: Silwad Under Attack (December 2024 - January 2025)

There were 5 settler attack in the Silwad area in the last days of Decemeber and the beginning of January 2025.

On December 28, in the afternoon, , Israeli settlers violently attacked three Palestinian farmers, injured 4 of them, and damaged cars in a private land in the Nesbiyya area, in the village of Silwad, located in the Ramallah region of the West Bank.

Four Palestinian farmers were injured, and several vehicles were damaged by violent Israeli settlers. The attackers came from a recently established outpost on village lands.

Settlers attacked the farmers with stones and sticks, a common form of violence; The attack was carried out in front of the Israeli occupation soldiers, which provided protection for the settlers.

The incident was documented by the Silwad Village Council. Silwad Mayor Raed Nimer told Wafa that the settlers came from an outpost erected less than a month ago in the al-Burj area.

The Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, Smotrich, and Ben Gvir, is accused of not enforcing the law and instead encouraging settler violence.

On January 3, according to "Times of Israel" and "Yesh Din" another settler attack occured : Six Palestinians were injured and six of their vehicles were torched during an attack by dozens of settlers on the central West Bank village of Silwad earlier. Soldiers were present at the scene but did not intervene or apprehend any suspects.
