"Once again, schools in northern Gaza are targeted suddenly by Israeli aircraft. This is Ibn Al-Haytham school which was suddenly struck with one bumb which destroyed the ground floor, causing a number of martyrs and injuries who were taken to Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City. The element of surprise in this strike caused a number victims whome, as you can see, people here are trying to recover the bodies of dispalced families that were in these ground floor classrooms. This school was previously targeted more than once by Israel, including by ground incursion. Rescue efforts are ongoing as rescue crews and civilians are working together to retrieve more bodies of martyrs and injured trapped under these classrooms that were brought down on the displaced inside."

The facts :

• An Israeli aristrike in the afternoon targeted the Ibn al-Haytham school in Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

• The school, like all others, housed displaced people and a teacher by the name of In'aam, was still offering courses to her students there.

• Journalists were told by the Civil Defense crews that the school was struck without warning with two bombs which penetrated all the way to the ground floor to the teacher's classroom, where displaced people were staying.

• The intensity of the bombing caused victims to be flung out of the classroom and body parts were seen strewn about the scene.

• Rescue crews, along with civilians, were working to recover bodies and assist the injured and to retrieve those still trapped beneath the rubble.

• This school has been targeted multiple times before, including during ground incursions.

Casualties:

• 8 people killed, including 5 children and 2 women. Some victims were torn to shreds. One child's skull was cleaved.

• Victims were taken to al-Ahli Arab (Baptist) Hospital.
