Archivist Notes: Day 369 - North Gaza invasion

Day 5 of the third Israeli ground incursion in Jabalia.

Since early morning journalists reported an intensification of the siege enforced by more artillery shelling, drone murders and closing off the last way out of Jabalia with a sand barrier. There were multiple reports of people being shot by the IDF while trying to leave, debunking Israeli claims of any "humanitarian corridor".

Journalists noted that the situation on the ground is worse than what little footage that manages to get out shows.

  • IDF carries out a strike on displacement tents in Al Yemen Assaeed Hospital in Jabalia PHOTO. 16 people were killed and 17 injured. Many bodies were found shredded and charred. Casualties taken to Kamal Adwan hospital, which is also under an IDF evacuation order issued the night before
  • Minutes before 5 p.m., A photo circulated of a young man carrying killed friend, Amjad Aziz, in a wheelbarrow due to the siege and threatening of ambulances. Amjad was killed when the IDF struck a water truck in Beit Lahia
  • Around 4:30pm, the IDF targeted 2 journalists working for Al-Aqsa TV (aka Seraj TV) while reporting from the Abu Sharkh roundabout. Correspondent Tamer Lubbad was wounded while his cameraman Mohammed Al-Tanani was killed
  • Moments later, an Israeli drone chased down journalist teams (Al-Jazeera and Al Araby teams) in Saftawi area in Gaza City, and shot Fadi Alwhidi in the neck. Colleagues rushed him to the Baptist Hospital

Evening

  • Israeli attack on the Bahader family home in Jabalia camp. 5 killed
  • At 6 p.m., the IDF struck Al Yemen Assaeed Hospital again. Specifically the target was a group of people in front of the entrance. 3 people were killed. Photo of child casualty
  • 7 p.m.: journalist Omar Khalil Al-Balaawi was shot dead by Israeli drone while he was standing at the window of his house on Al-Jalaa Street
  • Al-Rafii school targeted again during the day as the IDF throws smoke and gas bobms inside.
  • IDF artillery shelling on Fatima bint Asad school while people were sheltering inside. Reports of deaths and injuries
  • 3 houses struck on Al-Hawja street in Jabalia. 3 killed:
