"Children in Gaza Still Suffering Gunshot Wounds to the Head and Chest, Doctor Reports Dr. Mimi Syed, currently on a medical mission at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, reports that Palestinian children continue to suffer gunshot wounds to the head and chest in recent weeks. This pattern, previously documented in a widely circulated NY Times column, was also observed by Dr. Syed during her previous mission to Gaza in August/September. She further reports that 70% of those treated at her hospital have been women and children — and ALL of the patients she treated in over a month in central Gaza were civilians. Below, we’re sharing the details about an 8-year-old patient Dr. Syed treated in December." - Source

Archivist Notes On This Video

“Playing outside of your house as an 8-year-old in Gaza should not be a death sentence. Getting targeted by a sniper should not be a normal thing,” Dr. Syed says.

“In any other place, a child shot in the abdomen would prompt an investigation. In Gaza, it’s become routine.”

Below are the photos of the x-ray and the bullet removed from this 8-year-old child’s abdomen.
