Caption: The moment the child "Layan Haji" was rescued by the Civil Defense from under the rubble of her house that was destroyed by the Israeli occupation in the Zaytoun area, southeast of Gaza City.

The crew is pulling Layan out with care, she is heard moaning in pain. Yet as soon as she's rescue she says Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah) and asks repeatedly about her father. The crew told her to be patient and if she's feeling alright, to which she replies she's alright and can walk.

Archivist Notes: Hajji family massacre - Zaytoun

On the night of September 20, Israel launched an air strike on the house of the Hajji family on Kashko Street in Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, killing seven people, mostly from the same family.

The Civil Defense originally reported that two people were found killed, including one woman, dozens injured, and that they succeeded in rescuing 5 children from under the rubble. They also reported that people in neighboring houses were injured.
