Ben Gvir leads jewish prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque breaking the status quo of the site

Original Social Media Post

"⚡️🇵🇸🇮🇱JUST IN: Led by Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir, large groups of Israeli settler fanatics storm the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, chanting and performing provocative rituals to mark the so-called “destruction of the Temple”. These scenes have become more routine during the genocide in Gaza, part of Israel’s broader push to mentally prepare the public for a more violent, extreme phase, one that could lead to the destruction of Al-Aqsa itself." - Source

3000 Jews desecrate Al-Aqsa mosque on Tisha B'av

To commemorate Tisha B'av—the jewish fast day mourning the destruction of the temples—Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir led a large group of Jews to march into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

He also led prayers and other rituals while Jews were shouting, singing, and dancing, effectively violating the status quo of the site and desecrating the muslim holy site.

Several high profile Israeli figures joined the raid including Deputy Minsiter of Foreign Affairs Sharren Haskel, Likud Knesset member Amit Halevi, and leading zionist figures like Nili Naouri Kupfer. The latter led a group raising Israeli flags and loudly chanting the Israeli national anthem, asserting Israeli domination over the site.

Many raised calls to rebuild the so-called Third Temple.

3,023 settlers desecrated the mosque, with 1,250 in Ben-Gvir's group.
