Journalist Karam Hassan writes: "On the 354th day of the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip, we are still collecting the remains of the martyrs after their features and body parts have disappeared, out of respect for what remains of their memory. From the occupation targeting a short while ago in the Al-Tawam area, northwest of the city of Gaza."

Shortly after 4:00pm on September 24th, 2024, the Israeli occupation launched an air strike on the home of the Ahmed family, in the Al-Tawam "17th" area, north of Gaza City, and west of Jabalia. This strike killed four people, including a member of the Civil Defense, and two children. A number of others were wounded and trapped beneath the rubble.

• We mourn the martyrdom of one of our members in northern Gaza:
• The General Directorate of Civil Defense mourns the martyrdom of one of its members, Sergeant A, firefighter and driver, Muhammad Majid Hassan Ahmed (37 years old), in the bombing of their apartment by Israeli occupation aircraft in the Al-Tawam area, north of the Gaza Strip.
• Colleague Mohammed Ahmed worked as a firefighter in the Northern Governorate. He was known for his commitment and never delaying the call of national and humanitarian duty. With his martyrdom, the number of Civil Defense martyrs during this war has risen to 85 men of humanitarian work.
• We ask God Almighty to bestow His mercy and forgiveness upon him and to accept him among the martyrs.
