Summary translation:
"Our house was destroyed. My husband was killed in front of the house. So we got displaced and came to this school and now they destroyed this school. Where should we go after this? Should we go to the street? There's no space left anywhere. We keep being displaced from one school to another. Please, save us. - Where are you planning to go now?
Around midday, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Kafr Qasim Girls' Secondary School, which shelters displaced people in Al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City, killing seven people, and injuring dozens. Many of the casualties in this strike were employees of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Gaza.
The school is located in an area that is full of schools including a UNRWA school-complex, the Shati camp schools, the Al-Shifa Street schools and the Kafr Qasim school, each sheltering hundreds of families.
Footage in the aftermath shows that the school has been almost deserted following the airstrike as displaced persons were afraid of the possibility of subsequent bombardment.
The Director General of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Gaza, Eng. Majed Saleh, was killed in this strike, along with his nephew.
This strike was officially the 19th school bombed by Israel in Gaza City alone since August.
Survivor testimony Author Meqdad Jameel writes: "They bombed Kafr Qasim School in our neighborhood in Al-Shati Camp. Our children miraculously survived while they were memorizing the Quran there and the bombing took place!"
