"Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza is receiving a constant stream of trauma patients due to ongoing hostilities in the area. The hospital has just one pediatrician, one orthopedic surgeon and limited nursing staff -- @WHO team assessed. The hospital building and equipment sustained damage during the most recent siege, and its four ambulances were destroyed. WHO transferred 23 critical patients with 21 companions from Kamal Adwan to Al-Shifa Hospital, and 16 patients with 16 companions from Al-Shifa to Nasser Medical Complex in a multi-day mission to north Gaza in the past two days. We have provided medical supplies, food and water for patients at Kamal Adwan Hospital -- but much more is needed. Additionally, this week we have also provided 40,000 liters of fuel and medical supplies for 6 six hospitals in Gaza City. As the situation continues to worsen across the Strip, especially in the north, keeping hospitals functional is of utmost importance. I will repeat again: the only path to safeguarding the health care system in Gaza from collapse is an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. Lives depend on it!"

Archivist Notes: Day 388: North Gaza Invasion

Day 24 of Israel's third ground invasion of the North Gaza governorate.

About 1,000 people have been killed in the invasion according to local medical sources

Healthcare situation:

Al-Awda hospital in Tal al-Zaatar, Jabalia, is only partly operational following the Israeli army's raid of Kamal Adwan hospital which put it out of service. Al-Awda hospital is facing a lack of supplies and staff following the abduction of its head of reconstructive surgery and orthopedy a few days before, when the IDF also directly struck the hospital. Israel continues imposing a total on the North Gaza governorate and denying any entry of aid.

As civil defense and paramedics were threatened to leave North Gaza and their ambulances destroyted, injured people have to take themselves to the hospital on foot.

The second round of the polio vaccination campaign is also being obstructed by Israel due to the siege it imposes on North Gaza.

Humanitarian situation

Journalist Anas Al-Sharif reported receiving appeals from families trapped in Jabalia camp asking for help to provide food and water after they ran out as a result of the stifling Israeli siege on northern Gaza, in addition to cries for help from patients and the elderly due to the lack of medicines and the absence of treatment.

The Civil Defense started receiving distress calls for food and water.

The park of the Beit Lahia project has been turned into a graveyard as burial space has run out in the local market square. (Photos)
