"UN on Gaza displacement: OCHA says leaving the north is “simply impossible” for many, with transport costs up to $1,000, roads barely passable, and southern sites beyond overcrowded. UN teams recorded 9,400 displacement movements from north to south in the past two days, bringing the total since mid-August to nearly 62,000. Across Gaza, total displacements have reached 110,000 since mid-August. Most families have been uprooted multiple times, exhausted, out of money, and hungry. Tents are only beginning to trickle in under severe Israeli restrictions. UN satellites warn 1,500 people camping on Gaza’s shoreline face high risk from tides and storm surges, as families are pushed to sleep dangerously close to the water’s edge." - Source
