Call for Investigation: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called on the Israel Defense Forces to investigate El-Salhi’s death, make the findings public, and ensure the safety of journalists covering the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Audrey Azoulay, ************UNESCO Director-General statement : "I deplore the deaths of journalists Mohammad Jarghoun and Mohammad El-Salhi. The protection of journalists as civilians is a requirement under international law, including UN Security Council Resolution 2222/2015 on the protection of journalists, media professionals and associated personnel in situations of conflict. I call for full and diligent investigations to determine the circumstances of these tragedies."

Context: El-Salhi's death occurred during a large-scale Hamas attack on Israel, leading to retaliatory airstrikes. CPJ also mentioned that other journalists had been killed or injured in the conflict.

CPJ Report: CPJ highlighted that in the last 22 years, 20 journalists have been killed by Israeli forces, with no accountability for these deaths.
