Refaat Alareer camp : a refuge for children with special needs

"Joan is a celiac patient who is 3 years old and weighs 6.8 kilos. Her parents are extremely concerned and really got the diagnosis. Therefore, Joan and her family moved into the Refaat Alareer camp to get extra care and support from the medical point. Shortly after her arrival, the family was provided with new pots, pans and cutlery for Joan. Batoul is an 8 year old celiac patient who died in our camp a month ago. Despite her pain, Batoul’s mother took the time to explain to Joan’s mother the risks and tips for celiac. We are hoping to see a difference in Joan’s weight and bloating over the next few weeks.
