Archivist Notes On This Video

Interview filmed by Sahat in Mach and published posthumously on the day Ahmad was killed.

Translation:

"Now, the students themselves come to take me with them to mosque to teach, in contrast with previous years where it was the Muhafiz (Quran teacher) who would bring the students to the mosque.

After the mosque was bombed, we established this prayer hall to teach the nobme Quran in the Musabah area of Rafah.

80 students come here on a daily basis to the dawn prayer in spite of the cold, danger and fear. We hold a study session after the dawn prayer. Then we hold a Quran recitation practice after the noon prayers, and after the afternoon prayer we study the Sirah (prophetic biography) and Quran recitation methods. Finally, after the night and Taraweeh prayers, we organize competitions and entertainment activities for the students to motivate them.

Despite my injury and what befell me, I ask that Allah compensates my afflication with what is beter."

Archivist Notes: Quran teacher Ahmad Abu Mohsen killed in his tent

An Israeli night airstrike targeted the tent of Quran teacher Ahmad Abu Mohsen, killing him.

Ahmad had lost both his legs to an Israeli strike months prior but persisted in teaching children full time in his wheelchair.

He used to teach at Al-Anbiyaa (the prophets) mosque and another center which were both destroyed by Israeli bombing. He then resumed teaching students from dawn to night on a daily basis in a tent erected in the Musabah area of Rafah.
