The wounded Raja Rabi' Tawfiq Abu Uwaida, one of the survivors of the Abu Shahma massacre (August 14) in Khan Younis, lost both of his feet and suffers from severe burns on his body. He also lost his right eye, and 4 of his children were martyred, including his pregnant daughter.

"I was wounded at home and lost 4 of my offspring: Luay, my eldest son, Shaimaa, Asmaa, and Muhammad along with my nephew Rabi' Muhammad Uwaida. My wife is still injured with burns and has been at the hospital for 15 days. As for me, both of my legs have been amputated, I lost my right eye, my hands and arms are burned and my back needs treatment, so I've been laying like this (on his stomach). My wife and my son Rabi' are still at the hospital receiving treatment for 15 days now, just as I am. But (in a very pained voice) I'm not comfortable, I really can't stay like this. I appeal to those with merciful hearts to help us get treatment outside, may Allah bless them. My back hurts, my legs still hurt, I've lost eyesight, God is my witness.
