Israel claimed both targets were Hezbollah surveillance operatives directing attacks.

These attacks mark the third Israeli strike on southern Lebanon within 24 hours. Just a day before, another Israeli strike in Burj al-Moulouk killed a Hezbollah member, and earlier in the week, Israel assassinated a senior Hezbollah militant in another air raid.
