Additionally, Suribelle reported that Yafi Barakat, along with his wife and children, was forced to leave their home in Burqin, west of Salfit, in the occupied West Bank. Translation of the testimonies

"Yafi Barakat: How can I bring a 2 year old kid to sleep here, where's the safety he'll sleep in?

The woman: If we open the window we feel like we're living in the settlement because of how close they are to us and from how many of them are roaming the area around us.

Yafi Barakat :No, where, here?! (Living here, are you serious?! tone) tsk. I am citizen yafi fadi mohammad barakat, a bruqin resident, living in the area of khalayil(usually olive groves, which are usually on the edges of Palestinian villages/towns), on the edge of brukhin settlement where the jews [israelis] set up tents for them next to my house and the israeli soldiers have forced me to migrate from my home since around 10 days.I have no safety at home at all. THey are daily coming down to this houses here to pray. They pray their prayers here and I have pictures documenting it. My internal windows in the home, they broke it, the door here is also ripped apart and broken, it's loose they can at any moment knock it down and enter my home <interviewer asks : how many kids do you have? I have 8 ki-- 5 kids, the eldest is 8 years old. There is no safety whatsoever, I came here yesterday with my father, we do not have safety. How can I bring a child of 2 years old to sleep here, wheres his safety? What we're asking for is protection to protect our homes and our kids so we can go back to our lives and be able to go back to our homes and live our normal lives. Right now while we're filming the interview with the TV channel, the occupation army soldiers have forced me to leave and enter my home so they do not appear in the picutres.

The woman: There is no protection, no space whatsoever to live in your home normally because the location now is so scary. We as a village we've been for around 10 days getting raids and attacks by the settlers and the army in an unnatural(crazy) way. Yesterday they announced that there's a curfew as if that is life as normal. The settlers attacked, they burnt the houses and homes and destroyed the homes. Here in my brothers home Yafi Fahed Barakat, this house had the windows broken and we fixed them and the house so we can come back and live here. It didnt work out the settlers attacked us and chased us out of the house and we have kids, our oldest kid is 8 years old, 5 kids, the youngest is 2. These children can't live here because there's no safety here because the settlers are standing in front of the steps to the house 24 hours where we were filming and they banned us from filming there. We are right now living in terror and fear. There is no protection, there is no safety for us as there is only one street lane between us. Right now they are 24 7 coming down to the house trying to break in and burn it. And we are trying as much as we can to protect the home. It is also hard for us to stay here because we dont have any relatives we know around this year as we live on the other side of Brukin(meaning away from Khalayil area). So we are trying and coming here every day to protect the home. On this door we put couches so it becomes harder to break in. As you can see on this door, from the amount of kicking and hitting the door, I think if they tried some more it would eventually open. So the house is very dangerous. If for youth to protect it or for children to sleep in it. It is not a place of habitat or sleep."
