"Yesterday, as the heavy rains fell, The Sameer Project team drove straight to the areas being hit the hardest by flooding and winds to supply them with life saving support. We gave out 87 tarps to families whose makeshift tents were falling apart. We initially put up 50 but the situation was so dire we added 37 more. Here, this mother expresses her fear that her children will not survive the winter. Imagine that. Afraid that your children will freeze to death as the cold rain pours into your tent, nothing you can do, because you were forcefully displaced from your home that now lies as rubble. The team felt heartbroken as they gave out the last tarp while more families clearly needed one too. We promised to return with more when we can source them, and we promise to be there for families in need at the cold and rain make the suffering even more extreme. Please help us do so.
