At 5 pm, an Israeli aristrike targeted a displacement camp in the so-called safe zone of Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis.
More precisely, the same location was bombed three times starting around 4:50 pm
The third strike led to casualties as people had returned to the location under a false sense of security.
Helicopters had fired two missiles, mere minutes apart, on a farm land belonging to the Al-Astal family. Minutes later, a follow-up strike lead to the injury of one person. Moments later, a bomb was dropped the third airstrike hit a location hundreds of meters away on a camp for displaced persons and food storage warehouses. A large fire broke out burning down around 10 tin shelters.
At least 17 people were killed, including 5 children from three families: Lafi, Barhoum, Jumua.
Many of the victims' bodies were found charred and shredded.
