Archivist Notes: Al Yemen Assaeed hospital massacre

Shortly before 10:30am, and then again at about 2:30pm a series of Israeli airstrikes targeted displacement tents in the courtyard of Al Yemen Assaeed Hospital, in Jabalia.

A large number of casualties were reported in the first moments after the bombing, reflecting the scale of the massacre. Casualties were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital, which itself had received IDF threats the night before to completely evacuate within 24 hours. The road from the hospital to Al Ahli Baptist Hospital was also destroyed by the IDF on October 8th, preventing any transfers of casualties.

Immediately after the second strike, fire broke out amongst the tents. Civil Defense struggled to control the flames, especially after the occupation began shooting at them.

17 people were confirmed killed and another 17 injured in the Israeli massacre. Victims were shredded and charred.

At 6pm, the IDF struck Al Yemen Assaeed Hospital again. Specifically, the target was a group of people in front of the entrance. A member of the Civil Defense was injured and 3 people were killed:

  1. Hamza Abu Mahadi
  2. Imad Al-Wahidi
  3. Rami Abu Shahada

Shortly after 7pm an occupation drone fired an additional 4 missiles in the vicinity of the hospital.
