Archivist Notes: Walid Hussein "Al-Bay'a" assassination in Nablus

On November 13, on Tuesday, the Israeli army shot and killed 18-year-old Palestinian Walid Ashraf Muhammad Hussein (called "Al-Bay'a") near a military checkpoint at the Deir Sharaf junction, northwest of Nablus in the West Bank.

According to Israeli Army Radio, the Palestinian youth was "neutralized" after allegedly attempting to stab reserve soldiers stationed at the checkpoint. Despite this claim, no Israeli soldiers were reported injured in the incident.

While the initial reports from Israeli sources did not confirm his death, several Israeli media outlets later reported that the teenager was killed immediately at the scene by gunfire.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health, informed by the Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority, confirmed Hussein’s death from gunfire by Israeli soldiers.

Witnesses reported that Israeli soldiers fired at Hussein as he approached the checkpoint. Then, Israeli soldiers prevented the ambulance from transporting the body of martyr Walid Ashraf Hussein, leaving him in blood without calling an ambulance or allowing anyone to approach him.

The body was reported abducted by the Israeli forces.
