Around 6 pm, an Israeli strike targeted a civilian vehicle transporting the displaced Abu Shaaban and Shaaban families as they tried to check on their home east of Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. 11 people were killed, including 7 children.

According to the Palestinian Civil Defense, the car was struck by a drone, which was followed by artillery shelling.

The IDF only allowed Civil Defense to reach the site on midday the next day. Rescuers found the destroyed vehicle and everyone inside dead, whereas other dead bodies were scattered. One of the seven children, Nasser, was found with his body torn in half. The Civil Defense also note that the bodies of two children were not found, with signs indicating stray dogs may have dragged and eaten them.
