"🚨 UN OCHA: Israel Still Blocking Fresh Produce, Meat, and Fish Despite Gaza Famine Declaration Eyad Amawi of the Gaza Relief Committee told Drop Site that this is part of a deliberate strategy. “The occupation is creating a generation that is physically weak and incapable of resistance.” OCHA’s Gaza spokesperson Olga Cherevko echoed the Gaza Government Media Office, which said Sept. 1 that Israel is blocking over 430 food items – including frozen meat and fish, eggs, cheese, dairy, frozen vegetables and fruit, fortified foods for patients and pregnant women, and “hundreds of other items needed by the starving and sick.” Cherevko said Gaza is only receiving: •Flour •Cooking oil •Basic ration packages •Limited commercial goods — often expensive and not nutritious. Amawi, who coordinates with NGOs to help secure and distribute aid in central Gaza, warned that war-wounded cannot heal without proteins and minerals, and children are being deprived of nutrients needed for growth – creating “generations weaker in immunity, shorter in stature, and more prone to chronic disease.” He said “the plan is not simply to make people hungry, but to dismantle their internal health systems piece by piece.”" - Source
