Israel destroyed all of Beit Lahia's agriculture, a core source of produce in Gaza

"Beit Lahia resists with its agricultural projects. We are very proud to announce our partnership with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (@APNorg ), an organization that is focused on protection of the environment and the natural resources in the Arab region. They’ve already done so much in Gaza since April, supporting farmers in growing over 900 donums of land (900,000 square metres). Our work together aims to provide people in Gaza with self-sustainablity and agency during this transitory time. The first project we are raising funds for is to provide the necessary seeds and germination process for 10 dunoms (100,000 square metres) in Beit Lahia to aid in bringing life back to the most northern areas. The seeds and germination of each donum with vegetables are at a high cost of around $1,500 and trees cost around $700 due to the lack of seeds and tools. Each donum produces between 5,000 - 25,000 kilos of vegetables per season depending on the type of produce and other factors, and trees take two years to produce. This project will mix 7 donums (7000 square metres) of vegetable and 3 donums of trees thinking of the short and long term. The 10 donums will produce on average 100,000 kilos of vegetables in 40 days and 120 trees!
