"Another school has been bombed in North Gaza—this time, it's ours. The place that once echoed with the laughter and hope of children now lies in ruin. The loss goes beyond the destruction of bricks and mortar; it is the dreams, safety, and future of countless young souls that have been shattered. The Israeli army targeted our school on the Sabbath—a day meant for peace and reflection. What was once a sanctuary of learning and hope is now a painful reminder of loss and devastation. 💔 You may remember the sign on our roof, written in Hebrew: "Please don't bomb," accompanied by an American flag. That sign, meant as a plea for protection, was struck by the bombing. The explosion reduced the sign to ashes, burned the flag, and inflicted destruction on this U.S.-funded school—built by a Palestinian American physician from Michigan who once studied at Harvard. Adding to the irony is that these acts of destruction were carried out with American bombs. The heartbreak is profound."

Translation:

"*Despite the signwe put on the roof signaling that this is a school–we're not affiliated with political party or government–despite everything they targeted us. I swear no one enters this place, we've hired two guards to ensure they don't let anyone (outsider) inside. We've got nothing to do with any political party or government, and still targeted us. We put over there the flag and a sign saying it's a school, and they struck the sign precisely. But God willing, Waseem, we'll rebuild it."
