Archivist Notes On This Video

Hossam Shabbat "What is happening now is a complete displacement of the northern Gaza Strip. Genocide in the true sense of the term, as houses were destroyed, bombing shelters and forcing displaced people to leave their homes and shelters. Recently, the occupying forces asked citizens to leave the Beit Lahia project area, which is now occupied. includes the largest number of displaced people in the entire northern Gaza Strip"

Archivist Notes: Day 382: North Gaza Invasion

Day 18 of Israel's third ground invasion of the North Gaza governorate.

Overview

This day was marked by the IDF's focus on Beit Lahia, ordering people to leave, opening fire and besieging the area. Beit Lahia is one of the areas in North Gaza where the population has been concentrated when fleeing the ground invasion in Jabalia. Journalists reported that the streets are strewn with dozens of bodies of killed and wounded people that no one can rescue. People are unable to reach the cemeteries for a proper burial of martyrs, who are buried in the roads and streets instead

Healthcare situation

Kamal Adwan Hospital:

  • The IDF besieged the hospital, ordered its evacuation, and carried out strikes against it directly and around it, as attested by the hospital's director, Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya (1 2) who issued urgent pleas for intervention to protect the patients and put an end to Israeli crimes.
  • The strikes around the hospital destroyed the roads leading to it and severely hindering essential life-saving work of ambulances.
  • Kamal Adwan is the only relatively operational hospital. Yet, it struggles with the flow of casualties exceeding its capacity, while also facing a near total lack of medical supplies. The hospital was forced to triage since October 19, leading to many dying from their injuries
  • Over 150 patients are receiving treatment inside, including over 15 cases of newborns and patients in ICU
  • Communications cut off
  • Essential supplies ran out: blood units, medications, tubes we use for chest drainage, and basic medical supplies. And Israel persists in denying these supplies

Al-Awda hospital

  • IDF continues besieging Al-Awda hospital, denying life-saving care to casualties. This is the third time the hospital has been besieged since October 7, 2023.
  • IDF diretly struck and destroyed the hospital's third and second floors on October 20, also destroying water tanks
