Journalist Nouredddin Abdo is documenting the search and retrieval of dead and injured Palestinians who were sheltering inside the school, many of them little children, after Israeli forces massacred them in the middle of the night.
At about 3:15am on October 1st, 2024, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Shuja'iyya Boys' School which shelters displaced people in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, killing 6 people and wounding a number of others.
Reporting on the incident, journalist Mohammad Qraiqea wrote: "A few moments ago, an Israeli missile stole the dreams of six displaced people and burned their bodies in their displacement center in the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City. Among the victims were a mother and her daughter, brought together by the same row and the same shroud. Gaza’s night and day are surrounded by fire and gunpowder."
