"The first breakfast in 23 years: Released Palestinian captive Zaid Bseisi shares breakfast with his family for the first time in over two decades. He says that freedom has enhanced the taste of food, drinking, waking up, and sleeping. Born in 1977 in Ramin, Tulkarem, Bseisi spent 23 years in Israeli prisons. Arrested in 2001 and sentenced to life plus 55 years, he earned a bachelor's degree in history and a master's in political science while in prison. He endured solitary confinement multiple times, the last being in 2021.
