Ansam Soobh, 14 y/o daughter of Hassan Sobh is still searching for her father under the rubble of her home 2 days after it was completely erased by Israeli bombing. She says they want know whether he's there or at another spot and to retrieve any of his belongings as a keepsake. "*We thought we were protected, MSF is an international organization after all. That's how we felt our whole life. It was a complete shock when he was struck. He was very well-mannered and virtuous, he was an embodiment of his name (Hassan)."
She says she was not at home when the strike happened, as she was at the beach (camp). When she heard the strike, she felt he was targeted. She had conflicting reports about the circumstances of her father's murder but she knew he was not foolish to stay out with the danger of Israeli bombing and shelling that damaged the whole neighborhood that night.
The house of the Sobh family was completely pulverized by Israeli strikes amid a surprise violent offensive on eastern areas of Khan Younis that started in the evening of October 24.
The house belonged to Hassan Sobh who was part of the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) team since 2019. MSF strongly condemned the murder of Hassan and his family, making him the 8th MSF crew murdered in Gaza since October 7, 2023, and the second in two weeks.
8 members of the family were killed.

"Eighth MSF colleague killed in Gaza Israel continues to show a fundamental disregard for civilian lives. NEW YORK/JERUSALEM, October 25, 2024 -
"Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) denounces in the strongest possible terms the killing of Hasan Suboh, who had been working with MSF since 2019. He is the second MSF colleague to be killed in two weeks. Hasan, who was 41 years old and married with seven children, was killed the night of October 24 during Israeli military operations in Khan Younis, South Gaza. According to the Ministry of Health, this attack killed at least 33 people, including 14 children. Through its war on Gaza, Israel continues to show a fundamental disregard for civilian lives. There are no safe places. Humanitarian and health care workers have been repeatedly attacked. MSF alone has had to flee 14 different health structures and endure 26 violent incidents since the start of the war. More than 1,000 health workers have been killed in the past year, including eight associated with MSF. An immediate and sustained ceasefire is the only way to stop the violence and bring lifesaving care to people who need it most. Under international norms and laws, civilians must be protected from violence and have the right to access humanitarian assistance, especially medical care. Our thoughts are with Hasan's family and loved ones, and with all of our colleagues in Gaza."
