"Ahmed Eid, a 6-year-old child, was injured on June 18, 2024, while playing with other children in a shelter courtyard on the eve of Eid al-Adha. He suffers from psychological and physical trauma, including hair-pulling, nail-biting, and loss of appetite. Ahmed developed a fixation on a fan, believing its air is essential to soothe his burns, and initially refused physical therapy or interaction with unfamiliar people. TechMed is a team in central Gaza operating with VR Technology and mental health experts to provide therapy for both children and adults injured during the war With TechMed's advanced treatment in Al-Aqsa Hospital and the support of specialist Noorhan, Ahmed began his recovery. In their first session, Noorhan built trust and gradually reduced the fan’s speed. By the second session, Ahmed accepted VR-assisted therapy and began lowering the fan speed further. By the third session, he fully embraced therapy, reducing the fan to speed 2 day and night. TechMed continues to support his progress, helping him regain confidence and adapt. Please follow @mosabAliVR for more insight on their work, where they will be more active in the next coming days." - Source
