"هؤلاء أهلنا وأبناؤنا وبناتنا في محافظة شمال غزة، الذين لم يخرجوا إلا تحت تهديد ونيران جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، وبعد 21 يومًا من التجويع، وحرق مراكز الإيواء والمدارس، وقصف المستشفيات ومحاصرتها. هذه جريمة تهجير قسري مكتملة الأركان، والعالم يقف شاهدًا عليها. These are our people, our sons, and daughters in the northern Gaza province, who have only left under the threat and fire of the Israeli occupation army, after 21 days of starvation, the burning of shelters and schools, and the bombing and siege of hospitals. This is a fully-fledged crime of forced displacement, and the world stands as a witness to it."

Archivist Notes: Day 383: North Gaza Invasion

Day 19 of Israel's third ground invasion of the North Gaza governorate.

Over 770 people were killed since the onslaught, according to Government Media Office

Overview

The morning was marked by a focus on Beit Hanoun as the IDF continued forcibly displacing Palestinians from shelters by raiding schools, ordering their evacuation via drones, and opening fire to force people to leave under threat of fire.

Later in the evening, Israeli forces directly threatened and targeted Civil Defense crews, injuring 3 of its personnel and setting on fire the only firefighting vehicle in the North Gaza. The Civil Defense was forced to cease operations amid the lack of any protections, further jeopardizing the fate of any casualties from Israeli massacres.

Displacement and detention

Displaced families have been seen in footage stranded on Salah al-Din road, not knowing where to go. ultiple journalists who met them reported they were displaced with little to no belongings and are staying out in the streets in the cold of October.

  • Drone was sent to the vicinity of Kamal Adwan, Al-Alami and Beit Lahia market to order evacuation: "Everyone present in homes, shelters and Kamal Adwan Hospital, evacuate immediately. This is a dangerous combat zone. Head to Beit Lahia main street or Al-Awda Hospital Street towards the Indonesian Hospital.
  • When people reach the Indonesian Hospital, the women are separated in Halab School and the men in the Kuwait School for field interrogation.

Journalist Islam Bader shared more details about IDF's detention of people being forcibly displaced:

  • Women and men are separated. Women undergo quick searches whereas men's are more harsh
  • Men are brought in groups of five, subjected to facial recognition to filter them, and subjected to physical and psychological abuse
  • Men have to wait at the checkpoints for 8 to 12 hours while cuffed, unable to move freely and not provided without even a cup of water
  • ShinBet agents hurl abuse via loudspeakers terrorizing the people and blaming Palestinians for what is befalling them

Healthcare situation

Indonesian hospital:

  • Dr. Muhammad Ghanem shot dead by a quadcopter while at work in Beit Lahia
  • Surgeon Dr. Abdullah Abu Jidyan arrested at Kamal Adwan Hospital. He headed there to work as he was unable to reach the Indonesian hospital

Kamal Adwan hospital:

The hospital ran out of essential supplies and its director stated it has "nothing to provide for the patients and the injured". Roads leading to and from the hospital are full of rubble from Israeli bombing of surrounding buildings on October 22. Staff are sharing what little sustenance remains while working tirelessly to save those they can.
