Archivist Notes: Al-Aqsa Martyrs mosque massacre

Around 2:20 am an Israeli airstrike bombed Al-Aqsa Martyrs Mosque, part of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital compound in Deir al-Balah. A large number of people were taking shelter inside.

Footage showed dozens of bodies killed and wounded piled up inside the mosque whereas the mosque itself was extensively destroyed, reflecting the destructive power of the bomb used by the IDF. The tail section of JDAM kit was found amid the rubble.

The location is supposed to be a "safe zone" as per Israeli official public communication.

Preliminary death toll amounts to 15 people killed. By 6am the death toll had risen to 21.

Casualties: The Ministry of Health udpated figured on October 7, 2024 reporting 26 people killed across this massacre and another at Ibn Rushd school. Footage from the morgue shows at 18-20 bodies brought there after this mosque massacre.
