On January 2025, at 9:30 p.m., an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Tammun, southeast of Tubas in the occupied West Bank, killing ten young men.

According to a brief statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, ten fatalities and a number of wounded individuals were brought to Tubas Governmental Hospital following the horrific attack.

The day before, PA security forces had arrested the father of resistance fighter Osama Maarouf Bani Ouda—one of the victims of the airstrike—in an attempt to pressure him to surrender, while also pursuing and opening fire on other resistance fighters.

The massacre comes amid an ongoing military offensive on Jenin, dubbed Operation “Iron Wall”, which has led to the killing of at least 17 people, including one person shot dead by PA security forces.

Israeli spin

The Israeli Ynet news website quoted a military statement that confirmed the airstrike in Tammun, claiming it was against "an armed terrorist cell" as part of an ongoing military operation in the northern West Bank.

The IDF X account published this statement : "As part of the security forces’ operation in northern Samaria, an Air Force aircraft, guided by Shin Bet intelligence, struck an armed terrorist cell in the Tammun area of the Menashe Brigade. Further details to follow.”
