The Gaza Ministry of Health decided to partially reopen the hospital by restoring a building that was completely destroyed. The reopened Emergency Department has been inaugurated September 1st. Islam reports that there are plans to restore other parts of the Al-Shifa complex such as the maternity and nephrology wards. This inauguration bears a strong significance as Al-Shifa complex has always been the beating heart of healthcare in Gaza.
