"“The State of Israel is the country that destroys and has destroyed the most hospitals in the world.” — Ahmad Tibi, a prominent Palestinian member of Israel’s Knesset, delivered a blistering condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza during a parliamentary session today, while calling for the release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, reportedly detained at Israel’s infamous Sde Teiman prison in the Negev desert. Tibi also wrote to Defense Minister Israel Katz, urging permission to visit Dr. Abu Safia. He cited “harsh detention conditions, reports of widespread torture, and dozens of deaths in custody, including Dr. Adnan al-Bursh earlier this year.” “We must not abandon Dr. Abu Safia,” Tibi wrote, “the man who stayed with his patients until the very last moment.” The Israeli military raided Kamal Adwan Hospital on Friday, abducted the doctor, and then set the facility on fire." - Source
