Archivist Notes: 20 killed in a series of airstrikes on Tuffah neighborhood

Late afternoon, Israeli occupation forces launched a series of airstrikes in Tuffah neighborhood, killing 20 people.

The series of airstrikes targeted

  • 3 schools: Shaaban Al-Rayes, Al-Karama, and Sa'd ibn Muadh.
  • 2 houses: Ghabayen and Hoso families
  • 1 civilian car at the Sanafour intersection

Journalist Islam Bader reported that the airstrikes were sudden as the IDF had not made any announcement or indicated any new operations in the area, adding that it could be part of a plan to secure its invading troops working on expanding the buffer zone east of the Gaza Strip.

The area had experienced multiple Israeli strikes over the previous days, and Islam Bader noted a movement of displacement among the inhabitants, albeit limited.

Three schools

Around 3:45 pm, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Shaaban Al-Rayes school and Al-Karama school in Al-Shaaf area of Tuffah neighborhood. Both schools are next to each other.

According to journalist Islam Bader, who was on the ground, the airstrike at Shaaban Al-Rayes school targeted a soup kitchen and clay ovens financed by the Red Cross.
