At around 1:50pm, on September 24th, 2024, "very violent raids on Al-Nuseirat camp" were reported. This was the beginning of a wave of Israeli drone strikes, air raids, and massacres that would kill at least 25 people, and continue past midnight.
Around 2:00pm Israeli warplanes targeted the Abu Rish, Al-Sharif and Fayyad family homes, north of Hassan al-Banna Mosque, in the Al-Nusairat refugee camp (central Gaza), killing four Palestinians, three of them women.
At the same time: 2:00pm, an Israeli drone began launching bombs around the site of the recent bombing. Al-Awda Hospital reported that "Injuries continue to arrive at the hospital as a result of the occupation’s bombing of the new camp area in Al-Nuseirat."
At 2:10pm, Safa correspondents reported "The latest targeting in the Nuseirat camp was on the Abu al-Rish family home, and there is difficulty in ambulance crews reaching the location due to the presence of a drone firing gunfire and bombs in the vicinity of the targeted home."
Journalist Maha Hussaini wrote: "Breaking: An Israeli bombardment has just targeted an ambulance in Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. A quadcopter is hovering over the scene, preventing anyone from approaching the victims lying on the ground."
Heavy Israeli artillery shelling targeted the vicinity of Wadi Gaza, north of the new camp, north of Nuseirat, leading to a 2:30pm report of "injuries due to the occupation bombing of an ambulance and a number of citizens while they were heading to the bombing site in the new camp in Nuseirat, and at 2:45pm Al-Awda Hospital, reported receiving 4 martyrs and 21 injuries.
Journalist Abukbaker Abed wrote: "Israel is now pounding Al-Nusairat Refugee Camp with tank bombing as we can hear very regular explosions. Heavy attacks there over the past hour. Two family houses flattened and several casualties reported, including 4 killed. (Three women murdered) Talking to residents there, Israeli snipers and quadcopters have been on the Sea (Al-Rashid) Street, near the new camp, exactly the west of the northern part of the refugee camp, over the past weeks. Israel's bombing of Al-Nusairat Camp has obliged hundreds of people to flee the camp over the past days, pushed towards Khan Younis or Deir al-Balah. Things bode badly and panic arises that a massacre might be on the horizon, similar to June 8th massacre that killed 210 Palestinians."
He posted a PHOTO, captioned: "This is an aerial view of the northern part of central Gaza- Al-Nusairat Refugee Camp... As seen, clouds of black smoke cover the sky as Israel's tanks continue bombing the territory."
At 2:50pm, a new strike targeted a jeep, killing its three occupants with a missile from a drone while they were collecting parts to repair an olive mill, and food baskets to distribute to the displaced near Abu Awda olive press on Salah al-Din Street at the entrance to the electricity company, in the Nuseirat camp. Notably, the IDF released footage of the strike itself, filmed by the drone that killed them.
After the strike, a fire broke out in the place, making it difficult for ambulance and civil defense crews to reach the victims. Hours later, it was reported "the bodies are still on the ground and the occupation is preventing their retrieval and is shooting at anyone who tries to approach them."
It wasn't until the next morning that Al-Awda Hospital reported: "Three martyrs were recovered and arrived this morning after the occupation bombed a civilian car yesterday near the Abu Awda olive press."
At 4:05pm a child was wounded when she was targeted and shot by an Israeli warship, in the west of Nuseirat. She was brought to Al-Awda Hospital and treated.
At approximately 4:30 pm, Israeli warplanes bombed the Al-Mosran & Al-Wasifi family homes near Al-Ahli Club in Al-Nusairat camp, killing more than 13 people, including nine children and two women, and injuring many others.
PHOTO "10 martyrs, were recovered, and more than 10 injured people arrived at Al-Awda Hospital in the camp. Injuries were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah due to the seriousness of their condition."
Recovery of the victims continued for some time, with the child Wasfi Muhammad (Masran) Al-Wasifi found under the rubble by Civil Defense after midnight, and the next morning, Al-Awda Hospital reported: "A martyred girl, (Lana Al-Mosran), was brought to the hospital after being pulled out from under the rubble of her destroyed home in the Al-Ahli Club area."
